UKI WAZA Floating Techniques Mae-otoshi Forward Drop Sumi-otoshi Corner Drop Hiki-otoshi Draw Drop ATEMI WAZA SHOMEN ATE Evade forward and right, extending attack with edge of right hand on inside of attacking arm. Bring left hand edge up to control the wrist and switch right palm to attacker's chin. Step through with straight arm. Uke takes backfall. AIGAMAE ATE Evade forward and right, breaking balance with hand edges at wrist and elbow. Uke recovers toward tori. Redirect arm up into face with left hand arching uke's back, and place right hand on chin. Push as before into backfall. GYAKUGAMAE ATE Break balance as before, uke recovers up. Roll back of left hand to cover eyes, catching uke's rise. Step left and push backhanded. Uke takes backfall. GEDAN ATE Break balance and recover as before, uke raises arm to protect head. Step under arm and behind to fit against side, catching uke on the rise. Keep off-balance arm extended overhead and left arm pushing across chest. Step through and push, cratering uke into side or back fall. USHIRO ATE Break balance with small evasion step, drop left hand behind and bring up to catch opposite shoulder from behind. Step around left with both hands hooked on shoulders, dropping uke in backfall. HIJI WAZA OSHI TAOSHI Break balance, uke reacts with arm. Cycle back to left posture, bringing arm vertical to uke's ear. Step and push elbow towards ear, changing to right posture as uke falls forward. Keep arm extended and bring to your right thigh. Lock arm with left hand on elbow, standing with left knee just at uke's neck. Lower weight carefully. Uke submits. UDE GAESHI Attempt Oshi-taoshi, uke resists push at ear. Evade forward and right, letting arm out in arc until it reverses. Hook left pushing hand inside wrist and lock back, bending uke's elbow and arching back. Step and push. Uke takes backfall. Follow down and lock with palm flat on the ground. Threaten eyes with right hand. Uke submits. HIKI TAOSHI Break balance with outside butterfly. Keep grip with left hand and threaten eyes with right, continuing to move past and away from uke. Draw down into front fall, placing right hand on elbow. Lock as in Oshi-taoshi, but from the other side of the arm. Uke submits. UDE HINERI Attempt Hiki-taoshi, uke resists pull on arm. With arm straight, push forward and slightly left to go past uke, bending uke forward with right arm over shoulder. Wrap right arm around uke's arm, place left hand behind hip and push with hip switch. Uke takes rolling breakfall. WAKI GATAME Evade forward right, bringing hands straight up in butterfly as if pushing on face. Catch the wrist and extend off-balance. Keeping grip with left hand, walk up to arm, trapping wrist in crook of right elbow. Cradle the elbow against your chest and lock, standing straight and inhaling to separate the elbow. Uke submits. TEKUBI WAZA KOTE HINERI Begin as Oshi-taoshi, but catch lower on hand. Sweep arm back to lock in curl with right pushing hand on edge of uke's hand. Block elbow with left but do not push. Step and push with straight arm into wristlock, till uke takes forward fall. Keeping wristlock, lay across the thigh and lean weight carefully into lock. Uke submits. KOTE GAESHI Attempt Kote-hineri, but uke resists push. Evade forward and right, letting arm out in arc until it reverses. Bring left hand to pushing grip on back of hand, with thumb between last two bones and last three fingers wrapped around base of thumb. Support with right hand and step forward as uke takes step to throw in forward airfall. Keep grip and step around to lock with arm taut against knee and erect posture. Uke submits. TENKAI Break balance with outside butterfly, uke pulls arm KOTE HINERI back. Follow arm back, keeping extended. Step through and pivot under hand when directly overhead. Left hand grips with thumb across back of uke's hand and pushes inward to lock wrist. Step around to front and draw into front fall, placing wristlock on thigh and locking as in Kote-hineri. Uke submits. SHIHO NAGE Evade forward and right, catching wrist with inside butterfly, and hip-switch to bring in front of you with reverse Kote-gaeshi grip. Uke pulls arm back. Follow through, pushing in arc and pivoting when hand is directly overhead. With uke's arm locked back as in Ude-gaeshi, push back into uke backfall. Take to ground and lean into lock. Uke submits. UKI WAZA MAE OTOSHI Break balance as in Shiho-nage, but uke steps away. Keep wristlock with right hand grip at chest level. Bring left hand up under uke's elbow with uke's rise, then turn palm down to push against uke's side as uke takes the down step. Uke takes rolling breakfall. SUMI OTOSHI Break balance as in Shiho-nage, but uke pulls arm down. Follow drop to rear corner, keeping extended with straight pushing arm until uke's body rise. Step forward and push with uke's down step to throw in forward airfall. HIKI OTOSHI Break balance as in Shiho-nage, but uke turns directly toward you. Change hands and step back so that right hand is under elbow and left hand maintains grip on wrist. Uke rises on toes due to elbow lock. Drop to left knee and throw in forward airfall.
